A Unit dedicated to scientific, evidence-based management of Gynaecological Diseases

Gynaecological conditions are major contributors to morbidity and mortality globally, with the greatest onus of disease borne by women in low‐resource countries. Approximately 4.5% of the overall global disease burden can be attributed to gynaecological diseases, which exceeds several major health priorities. Many could prevent or treat a broad spectrum of gynaecological disease using inexpensive and widely available resources. A huge gap that demands to be catered is the evidence‐based, patient‐centered gynaecological care to improve quality of life with better use of information, education and prevention.

Henry Fayol proposed five primary functions of management: Plan, organize, command, coordinate and control. If we apply these into the medical practice, that would mean managing and resolving issues of diagnosis according to certain guidelines and treatment algorithms. This mandates evidence-based, standardized management of gynaecological diseases.

To foster this in an organized way, Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgery Unit was founded in November 2011. This first High-definition Laparoscopic Operating System in Bhopal is also one of the first few in the Central India region. It remains the only exclusive 3D operating system dedicated to Gynaecology in Bhopal.

Medical technology has revolutionized the approach and management of surgical services. With the vision to provide the Gold Standard in Minimal Access Gynecological Surgery, the unit functions on its core competency of handling all surgical complexities with great ease. Our highly experienced team, well-equipped intensive care unit, and equally equipped supporting diagnostic services are the fundamental reasons why the unit has become highly significant for all surgically and medically high-risk patients.

We are committed to continuously improve safety in the care of our patients. Through standardization, we overcome system deficiencies, prevent errors and reduce the likelihood of their recurrence. Standardization improves the quality of our outcomes, which is an important tool in achieving our inspired vision for the unit.

All our effort is directed towards a singular goal: “Simplifying the complex”.
